PancakeSwap pricing: the quick answer

Quick answerHigh· Verified July 8, 2026

PancakeSwap charges no subscription and no platform access fee as of July 8, 2026; the cost is a per-swap trading fee plus network gas. Its V2 pools use a fixed 0.25%, of which 0.17% returns to liquidity providers and the rest funds the treasury and CAKE buyback. V3 pools let the provider pick a tier per pool: 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25%, or 1.00%. Buy crypto with fiat and PancakeSwap adds a 1% on-ramp fee on top of the third-party provider's charge. BNB Chain gas rides on top of every swap.

PancakeSwap Hidden Costs & Pitfalls

What sits on top of the trading fee

The swap percentage is the part people quote. The fiat on-ramp fee and the gas pass-through are the parts that surprise people at checkout.

Fiat on-ramp service fee
Funding your wallet with a card through PancakeSwap is not free. On top of the third-party provider's cut (Mercuryo, Transak, Topper), PancakeSwap takes 1% of the purchase. Buy $1,000 of crypto and that is $10 to PancakeSwap alone, before the provider's own spread and card fees, so the real cost of getting fiat in is meaningfully higher than the swap fee you will later pay to trade it.
1% of the transaction
V2 fee split (you do not get it all back as an LP)
The V2 pools run a flat 0.25%, but only 0.17% of that actually reaches liquidity providers. The remaining 0.08% is routed to the treasury and to CAKE buyback and burn. So a provider reading '0.25% fee' is really earning two-thirds of it; the rest is a protocol cut baked into every trade.
0.25% (0.17% to LPs)
Network gas plus in-range-only V3 fees
BNB Chain gas is charged per swap on top of the trading fee, not folded in. And on V3, a liquidity position only earns fees while the price sits inside its range; drift out of range and your capital stops collecting anything until you rebalance. That combination quietly turns 'low fee tier' into 'low fee minus gas minus idle time' for passive providers.

Positioning

PancakeSwap has no subscription and no platform fee. You pay a trading fee per swap plus BNB Chain gas. V2 pools are fixed at 0.25%, of which 0.17% goes to liquidity providers and the rest to treasury and CAKE buyback. V3 pools let the provider choose a tier per pool, core rates being 0.01%, 0.05%, 0.25%, or 1.00%. Stablecoin pairs sit cheapest, exotic pairs at the top. The V3 tiers run up to about 25 times cheaper than V2 on the same pair.

Cost drivers

  • 1A 1% fiat on-ramp service fee applies to card purchases through PancakeSwap, stacked on top of the third-party provider's own fees.
  • 2BNB Chain gas is a per-swap pass-through, separate from the trading fee.
  • 3On V3, only in-range liquidity earns fees, so a position that drifts out of range stops collecting until you rebalance.

Watch-outs

Swapping low-cap or meme tokens draws frequent complaints about slippage and execution price on top of the stated fee. Copycat token scams and malicious airdrops targeting new users are a recurring theme on the platform.

Editor’s take

The 0.01% and 0.05% V3 tiers are the right home for high-volume stablecoin and major-pair traders. Anyone buying with fiat should note the 1% on-ramp fee and consider funding elsewhere first. Providers on V3 need to actually manage their ranges or the low fee is illusory. For a different chain, compare Uniswap.
